Coverage
When choosing a travel health
insurance plan, be sure to know the extent of the coverage. A regular,
basic plan may provide a liability of $50,000 CND per each family member
in the event of a medical emergency and it may cover the following:
- Hospital accommodations.
- Any charges for ambulance
services to the nearest hospital.
Laboratory
testing and x-rays.
- Physicians, surgeons and
anaesthesiologists.
- Qualified registered nurses.
- Any casts, crutches, slings.
- Rental of canes, walkers
and wheelchairs.
- Prescription drugs.
- Treatments for the accidental
loss or damage of teeth.
- Meals and accommodations
for a certain amount of time.
- Costs incurred for the most
economical airfare when a pre-paid return flight is missed due to emergency
illness or accident.
Costs for any of these medical
emergencies are very expensive. That is why it is very important to consider
purchasing travel health insurance.
